Frantz and Mekailah’s love story began during an ice-cold evening, December 2015 in Boston, MA. The couple met through a mutual friend at a fraternity celebration and due to luck, fate, energy, or divine intervention, they kept running into each other and soon became inseparable.
Two years later during a Vermont ski trip in December, surrounded by snowy mountains and snow-covered tree tops Frantz surprised Mekailah with a proposal. It was as if the mountains, trees, wind, and all the wintry elements knew what was happening.
Mekailah said “YES” and the newly engaged couple went off to brave the slopes, but it didn’t end there…
Unbeknownst to Mekailah, Frantz had secretly asked friends and family to join in on the proposal surprise in Montreal, Canada later in the evening.
She thought a few family members were taking them out to dinner. Instead, Mekailah was again surprised, but this time it was a proposal party.
From a perfect mountainside proposal to fun on the ski slopes, to dancing the night away at a VIP lounge… ALL in one day. “It was and will always be a day to remember!”
The wedding and reception took place at Borghinvilla, Jamaica on February 16, 2019.
The couple chose Jamaica as their wedding destination because “There is no place like home.” Mekailah was born and raised in Jamaica, and Frantz who is from Haiti is in love with the Jamaican culture and the beauty of the island!
Over 100 family and friends attended the beautiful event;they partied the night away to the sweet sounds of Beenie Man and Avante while waving Haitian and Jamaican flags in honour of the bride and groom.
